My-Van Dam is a multidisciplinary artist based in Tiohtià:ke / Mooniyang / Montreal. She holds a BFA in Visual and Media Arts from the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM). Her artistic practice examines the transmission of intergenerational trauma and its physical and psychological impacts. She also explores embodied memory and processes of healing that foster personal and collective emancipation from oppressive systems. Her current research is grounded in somatic practices, proposing a vision of care as an interdependent and collaborative process.

Recently, she held solo exhibitions at Diagonale (2026) and MAI — Montréal, arts interculturels (2024), as well as a public engagement project at PHI (2025). In 2025, she screened her first film, Connecting from the Inside Out, at the International Festival of Films on Art (FIFA). Her work has also been shown at the Musée régional de Rimouski (2025), the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts as part of MAADI project (2022), Art Souterrain (2022), the Rad Hourani Foundation (2021), Projet Casa (2022), and La Centrale (2024). Her work has been featured in ESSE arts + opinions, Vie des Arts, Ciel variable, and Le Devoir. She has been an artist-in-residence at MICA art contemporary center (2023) and Pocoapoco, Mexico (2026). Her practice is supported by the Canada Council for the Arts and the Conseil des arts de Montréal.
